This highly detailed 19th century Sino-Tibetan bronze with silver patina statue is a unusual rendition of the goddess. Her fully rounded and sumptuous face is highlight by a pronounced third-eye, an unusual feature for Kuan Yin. Her sculptural coiffure is highly detailed and is crowned by Amithaba, the radiant one a common feature on Kuan Yin.

The ornamentation and detail on this piece is indicative of a fusion of a statue that is cast and finished by hand with high detail work. Her flowing shawl has the added detail of a deer pelt. She holds a long-stem lotus firmly in both hands and wears a highly detailed dhoti. Her finely rendered ornamentation embellishes the piece. Five aligned rings are at her base and she elegantly sits atop a full and luscious lotus. This is a distinctive bronze that captures the powerful presence of this deity. (SD)
