The
age of this medium size ivory carving can be attributed to
mid nineteenth century. The carving depicts a large open-mouthed
crocodile prying on five elephants. Under close observation,
two elephants in the front appeared to have once separated
from the bridge, and reattached by the carver long ago. The
overall condition of the tusk is very good. It has a nice
curve, beautiful cream white patina, and there is no other
damage.
