An antique unworked tusk. Aged with hairlines and wear, pristine ivory with crystalline center. The preferred ivory for carving, after elephant ivory,walrus can be worked to equally fine detail and is often polished to a high hand finish, which reveals the materialís special qualities--a smooth glassy surface with a translucent top layer and a blue tint around minor age cracks.
