Condition: age cracks, o.a. very good!

A very well carved Meiji Era netsuke with natural himotoshi; it is well placed suitable both for wear and display as an okimono. In cream colored ivory with cool undertones; engraving and hair lines with sumi in the details of features, embroideries and the grain of the tree stump; age patina and a few vertical age cracks. The carving depicts the light-hearted scene of a boy perched on a tree stump, bento in hand, feeding some of his lunch to a frog who climbs up the stump to receive it.
