Fukurokuju, one of the Seven God of Luck. He is the God of Longevity and Wisdom, recognized by a long and narrow head. He evidently did not originated from Japan, for in his earthly life, he is said to have been a Chinese philosopher and a prophet.

This is a very well carved netsuke from a single piece of ivory. Fukurokuju is carved with a bobbled head that can moves from side to side, but remains locked in the netsuke body and cannot be removed.
