This antique polychrome wood bodhisattva bust communicates power, peace reverence and compassion in her downward gaze, supple lips and full cheeks. Her massive head would have sat atop a full statue of considerable size and have been gazed upon by many adoring eyes over time. Hints and hues of the original paint are still in place: red and green here and there. She is shown with a sculptured intricate headdress and a regal flow of hair. Depth and celestial beauty flower in this goddess preserved through time for future eyes to delight in her boons of well-being. There is some paint lost and minor age cracks, overall this rustic wood bust is in very good condition (SD)
