Condition: minor nicks and thin crack!

An Asakusa School of Tokyo netsuke by Masayuki, a distinguished pupil of Hoshunsai, a master carver known as the equal of Kokusai. The netsuke is tactile and richly aged in reddish brown, with an even shine from high hand polishing. Judging from the nicks and dents shown on the netsuke, the usage worn indicated that the Buddha of corpulent abundance was loved and wore by many of its former owners through the years. Nevertheless, it is remaining in splendid condition overall, with only a thin age crack found near the base.
