Standing
at 3 inches and weight almost 3 ounces, with wings and legs
placed together, and beak resting in its chest. This is a
compact model of a large parrot, undoubtedly qualifies as
a "wrestler netsuke" designed for men.
This is another one of Nakagawa's netsuke we are offering
at current Ebay auction. The design is original, simple, but
effective for its purpose. The parrot's eyes are double inlaid
in yellow horns, and dark horns for pupils. Unlike his signature
on the Monkey netsuke, the Go Nakagawa is signed inside two
adjoining circles reserves on the base of the parrot, which
is detailed with the bird's legs, and two small himotoshi.
