An early twentieth century Japanese ivory netsuke in cream to gold color, very dense material with striations and markings, highly detailed and well carved, with extensive engraving and sumi, representing a elderly Jurogin at rest embracing a sack of gold.

The work is well-carved and replete with flowing and draped garment details, a naturalistic rendering in the posture and affable features of the god of wealth. Lightly stained to a golden hue, excellent condition with no cracks or losses.
