An early 20th century bronze in a sinuous and curvilinear composition echoing the sublime rhythms of Tang Style. This Kwan Yin with water jar and luxuriantly trailing scarves, in tribhanga posture upon a double lotus base, is superbly cast with well-defined details; the complicated hair style with its chased locks, the delicate jewelry, flowing drapery, and tiny fingernails and toenails are all rendered with devotion. The face of Kwan Yin is cheerful and sympathetic as she looks down upon sentient beings with infinite compassion. A fine small bronze full of animated spirit.
