A
beautifully carved tusk tip, creamy in color with
rosy variations, firmly and sensitively modeled, with
crisp definition, flowing rhythms and fine detail in
the delicate petals of the lotus, the swelling softness
of the lotus leaf, the silky beard and merry _expression
of the sage, the elegant protective dragon at the top
of the knobby staff, all rendered in smooth curves and
finished in a high hand polish. Foliate, cloud and floral
designs are engraved and lightly colored on the gently
falling folds of the robes.
