This genuine antique Pavai Vilakku is a traditional tribal bronze Deepalakshmi oil lamp from Tamil Nadu in Southern India. It is a fair sized temple shrine piece. Its coarse surface suggested that the statue was sand cast, and the darkened head of the goddess is undoubtedly from years of burning ghee in Puja, which effectively enhanced and deepened Her spiritual essence. With a beautiful natural patina, and well preserved in very good condition. This rare bronze Deepalakshmi oil lamp is a highly collectible item.
