Condition: excellent! Evocative
character and distinct personality are fused with the round edges and smooth touch
of a well-loved antique white jade Chinese toggle. Central is a charming Celestial
Boy who carries a plump, plush oversized peach of immortality on his back. A delightful
messenger between worlds, a purveyor of good fortune for those whom he meets on
the journey? Broad strokes and definitive cuts are used to shape this multihued
jade and yet, despite the apparent simplicity, the Celestial Boy gleams with a
buoyant and distinct character. This century old toggle would have been a good
luck piece, a touchstone of good fortune for its owner in the vicissitudes and
changes of day-to-day life. It is in excellent condition.
