An
antique traveling shrine depicting Kwan Yu, the God of War, stroking his beard
in characteristic demeanor, shown in a rendering of a wayside shrine in this small
piece intended as a traveling companion. Seated on a solid base attired in the
fine robes which cover his armor is Kwan Yu, patron not only of those who go to
battle, but of all who observe the code of brotherhood and righteousness, to whom
he extends a lifeline of strength and courage when they need it.
