Condition: very good!
A large Chinese "Famille Verte" style Imari porcelain platter. The central theme features three Bijins beauties in an imperial garden, framing inside the green rim are blooming peonies surrounded by banyan trees and gnarled bonsai boulders in a striking composition. Hand-painted with overglaze colors of red, green, yellow, and blue, rendered with classic use of perspective. Peony, the flower of riches and honor, the central theme of this large platter. The Chinese marking "Fuki Choshun" written in Kanji characters 富貴長春, meaning Wealth, Nobility, and Everlasting Spring. The two characters Choshun 長春 were written in archaic seal forms. A well-known kiln of the 19th century.
