An
intricately carved Xinjiang Hetian jade river pebble, depicting plants of immortality
such as ginseng, ling chih, and gourd, which implied the healing chi of the jade
stone, with distinct preservation of its organic lobed form, high-hand polished
to a tacticity that is soothing to the touch. The quality of the Hetian jade is
hard and fine with a crystal-like shine, variation in celadon and russet from
a mixture of tremolite and minerals. A few milk white specks otherwise in excellent
condition.
