A small antique bronze incense burner, in the shape of a bulbous round paunch rising from five flared samurai kusazuri armors, with everted flat rims striking outward in graceful curvature. The koro has a darkened silver lid with cutouts of the Sanskrit sutra. The bronze bears a weathered surface and layered with encrustations and random natural verdigris patina. Marked on the front in low relief is the Paulownia seal of the Great Unifier Toyotomi. Various versions were adapted into use by the Japanese government in 1888.
