A mid-century patinated bronze Guanyin. She wears a crown of five Dhyani Buddhas. Surrounding the ascendant head of Amitabha are Vairochana, Akshobhya, Ratnasambhava, and Amogasiddhi Buddha. Of whom the Goddess of Compassion is an emanation. The Thousand-armed Guanyin is gracefully seated upon an elaborate multi-tiers double lotus throne. In her two hands are the shakujo and a spear; the forward hands are pressed together in Namaskar mudra with blessings. With two hands on her lap holding a wisdom pearl, her sculpted thirty-six lifelike arms display an array of attributes, including the sun and moon disks, Dharma Wheels, and flaming wisdom pearls, which are symbols of the protection and guidance of suffering sentient beings. Atop the embossed aureole of arms in radiance is Dipamkara, Shakyamuni, Maitreya, the Buddha of the past, present, and Future. The solid bronze Guanyin is in excellent condition.
