This meticulously sculpted Shiwan ware 石灣窯 figure of Zhang Fei is based on the 14th-century historical novel "Romance of the Three Kingdoms." The historical showcase of the power and bravery of the legendary heroes. As shown here, Zhang Fei, in a military struggle with Cao Cao. He stood guard brandishing his spear at one end of the Changban Bridge, facing the overwhelming might of the enemy. Shouting, "I'm Zhang Yide 张益德, you are all invited to fight to your death!" The fearsome warrior is suited in period armor, mounting atop a magnificent muscled steed rearing in midair. The statue is masterfully modeled in sinuous muscular curves; with unglazed flesh-tone enhances the expressive and realistic appearance of the pair. The ceramic sculpture conveys a larger-than-life quality of the fierce general with mythical greatness. It is ferocious and beautiful at once. A technical feast with artist inscriptions on the base: "Zhang Fei On Changpan Bridge. Grand Opening Exquisite Work Handmade by Lam Liko."
