Gilded in gold, the Buddha is wrapped in an intricately chiseled copper sangha that carries the patina of ages, featuring elaborate motifs surrounding five ferocious dragons, a Garuda mask, and five Gratification Offerings to the five senses on the back of the lotus seat. Vairocana is seated majestically in the lotus position. He has a serene countenance, adorned with a gentle smile and an expression of profound tranquility. His downcast eyes, shrouded in contemplative serenity, and his hands elegantly poised in the Dharmachakra Mudra (Wheel Turning) symbolize the Buddha's first transformative sermon after his enlightenment. The statue beautifully integrates elements from Newari and Tibetan Buddhist art traditions and design motifs. It is sealed with an engraved Viswavajra on a copper plate.
